John Clinton Edwards, 89, of rural Bartlesville, died at 12:10 P.M. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Journey Home in Bartlesville. He was born in Osage County, Oklahoma on March 26, 1928.

He grew up in Osage County and was married to Betty Harrison on March 13, 1949. They made their home in Osage County west of Bartlesville for over 50 years. Mrs. Edwards preceded him in death on June 2, 2002. Mr. Edwards had worked in a fertilizer plant and in the oilfield. He then worked for TRW Reda Pump for 22 years until his retirement.

Mr. Edwards is survived by one son, Lanny Edwards of Bartlesville, one daughter, Johna Jester of Bartlesville, two brothers, Rodney Edwards of Nevada, Missouri and Roger Edwards of Ogden, Utah, one sister, Phyllis Jones of Ponca City, two grandchildren, John Jester and Andrea Simmons and her husband Chris, four great grandchildren, Alexis Simmons, Paityn Simmons, Lakota Simmons and Christopher Lee Simmons Jr., and a number of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

He was also preceded in death by a son Ernest Edwards, two brothers, Dale Edwards and Ernest Edwards and a sister, Lila Dodd.

Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Jerimiah's Cemetery, located on the family property west of Bartlesville with Pastor Bruce Ganze of the Revival Time Outreach Center officiating.
