Eighth child of eleven born to Jane Donsdon (Dunsdon) Bradbury, 2nd wife of William Bradbury. Father was born 15 April 1821 at Coventry, Warwickshire, England. 1st wife, Margaret Townsend and several of their children died before and shortly after they immigrated to America aboard the "Henry Ware" out of Liverpool 7 Feb 1849.
Margaret died of cholera 23 April that year enroute to St. Louis, on the Mississippi River aboard the side-wheel paddle steamboat the "Grand Turk". Her remains were buried in St. Louis upon arrival and her one year old son died of the dreaded disease & was buried in the same grave.
William settled at Hyde Park, near Council Bluffs, Iowa. Here he married Jane, (8 Oct 1849) who had been born at Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire, England, 29 Nov 1825. They would have two children before joining the 7th Company of LDS immigrants heading for the Salt Lake Valley with the Henry Bryant Manning Jolly Company in early June of 1852.
Reaching Salt Lake City on Sep 15th, they settled at Willard, Box Elder, Utah. Here eight more children were born. John Edwin died and was buried at the Willard Pioneer Cemetery sometime prior to March 28th 1867, because this is when William and Jane's last son was born and they also named him John Edwin in memory of their first John Edwin. This was a common practice in the days when they lost so many infants.
The family left Willard soon afterward and settled at Henderson Creek, Oneida, Idaho where, on her father's 50th birthday, their last daughter, Lottie was born. Jane died 12 Feb 1882.
William married in 1883 to Jennett Nicol, the widow of Hugh Moon and divorced from Fred Stockfled. (she had 12 children with Hugh Moon). She died in 1890 and William moved to Malad City where he died 16 Jan 1897; Jane, Jennett & William Bradbury are buried at Malad City Cemetery, Oneida, Idaho.
