Luís was born on August 11, 1923 in Golondrinas, NM to Noberto Sena and María Sánchez Sena.
Luís was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
Luís served in the United States Army with Company L 163rd Infantry Regimen 41st Infantry Division during the Papuan and New Guinea Campaigns. Luís enlisting in September of 1941 and was honorably discharged in August of 1945 as a Private First Class. Luís was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge and Good Conduct Medal.
Luís was formerly employed at the New Mexico Highway Department, New Mexico Highlands University and retired as a contract driver for the United States Postal Service.
Luís enjoyed fishing, he taught his children and grandchildren how to fish and he was nicknamed the "greatest fisherman of Mora". Luís enjoyed watching old war movies and western movies, he enjoyed gardening and caring for his yard. Luís was a lifelong member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Luís was a life member of VFW, D.A.V. and a member of the National Rifle Association.
Luís was preceded in death by his parents, Noberto and María Sena, sisters, Regina Romero, Albina Sánchez and Celina Pino, brothers, Sostenes Sena, Alfonso Sena, Candido Sena and Orlando Sena, two infant grandsons, great-grandson, David Lorenzo Clark and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lucianita and Alberto Trujillo.
Luís is survived by his wife, Elvira Sena of the family home in Las Vegas, NM, daughters and sons, Stella Sena of Las Vegas, NM, Christina Romero and her husband, Anthony H. Romero of San Diego, CA, Steve Sena and his girlfriend, Marie of Santa Fé, NM, Catherine Sena of Las Vegas, NM, Sandy Sena and her girlfriend, Stacie of Albuquerque, NM, Nancy Bachicha of Edgewood, NM, grandson, Randy Romero and his wife, Paula of Tijeras, NM, grandson, Antonio Romero and his girlfriend, Tina of Chilili, NM, grandson, Rick Romero and wife, Michelle of San Diego, CA, granddaughter, Veronica Clark and her husband, James of San Diego, CA, granddaughter, Amanda Sena of Capistrano Beach, CA, granddaughter, Jackie Brown and her husband, Jordan of Pleasonton, CA, granddaughter, April Sena of Eugene, OR, grandson, Joseph Sena of Albuquerque, NM, granddaughter, Kayla Sena of San Diego, CA, grandson, Taylor Sena of San Clemente, CA and grandson, Samuel Sena of Albuquerque, NM, great-grandchildren, Alexis, José, Naomi, Rebecca, Ricky, Yasmine, Luís, Avalyn, Annysa and Anjelique, brother and sister-in-laws, Daniel Trujillo and family, Abelina Montoya and her husband, Manuel and family, Rufina Ortega and family, Rudolpho Trujillo and his wife, Diane and family, Venancio Trujilllo and his wife, Vicky and family and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Rosary services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father George V. Salazar as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Sapello, New Mexico with full military honors with the following serving as Casket Bearers, Randy Romero, José Bachicha, Joseph Sena, Robert Sena, Taylor Sena and Mark Trujillo. Serving as Honorary Bearers will be all his remaining grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
