COUNTRY, MR. CLAUDE S., age 66, of Cardiff, AL, died December 29, 1997. He was a lifelong resident of Cardiff, AL. He was retired from U.S. Steel, a member of Cardiff Baptist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran and a former employee of Rural Housing Authority of Jefferson County. Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 31, at 3:00 p.m. at Cardiff Cemetery. Masons will be officiating. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Frances Country of Cardiff, AL; daughter, Mrs. Claudette Country Moore of Cardiff, Al; son, Mr. Robert (Bob) Country of West Blockton, AL; two sisters, Mrs. Rosemary Nail of Cardiff, AL, and Mrs. Angeline Walker of Birmingham; two brothers, Mr. Joseph Country and Mr. Bart Country, both of Cardiff, AL; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Cardiff Baptist Church. Crestview Memorial Funeral Home is directing.
