Born in Rye, NY on May 3, 1929, the daughter of the late, Frank J. Siccardi and Catherine B. Kullman Siccardi. She grew up in Bergenfield, NJ and went on to Endicott Jr. College, in Beverly, MA. After college she moved to St. Michaels, MD where she met Robert F. Caulk and they married on June 7, 1952. Her husband had a career in the U.S. Navy which made them reside in various states in his 25 year career. He retired in 1977 and they resided in Annapolis where she worked as a docent for Hammond Harwood House. In 1989 they purchased a motor yacht and traveled to Florida, while in Florida she was a docent at the Maritime Museum in Marathon Key. They would also travel to Maine, Bahamas and Europe until 1999 when they moved to Alexandria, VA where she was active with Christ Church serving as docent. In 2006 they moved to Symphony Village in Centreville, MD where they were living at the time of her death.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Centreville, MD. Betty's enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert F. Caulk; three sons, Robert F. Caulk, II and his wife, Judy of Memphis, TN; Peter M. Caulk and his wife, Margaret of Bishop, GA, Kelly F. Caulk and his wife, Amanda of Centreville, MD and his daughter, Catherine C. Kerr and her husband, John of Woodbridge, VA; a brother, Frank J. Siccardi of Fayetteville, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Centreville, MD on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 10:00 AM is followed by a reception at St. Paul's. Interment will follow at Christ Church, St. Michaels, MD at 1:30.
