Ruby L. Baker, 71, Route 2, Marion, died Tuesday at 5:55 a.m. in Doctor's Hospital at Harrisburg.

She was born in Goreville, March 21, 1908 to James and Rosetta Aikens Short. She married James Baker in Goreville April 3, 1926.

She is survived by her husband, James; four daughters; Mrs. Dennis (Agatha) Tanner, Stonefort, Mrs. Rayborn (Clarice) Killman, Crab Orchard, Mrs. Joe (Opal) Hill, Stonefort, and Mrs. Gene (Caroyln) Johnson, Marion; four sons, Samual, James R., Ronald D., and Jackie L, all of Marion; 30 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett Short of Marion and Raymond Short of Marion; and one sister, Mrs. Henry (Maxine) Hudgens of Victorville, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, one brother and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Utley officiating. Burial will be in Cana Cemetery in Johnson County. Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
