Mary (Francis) Ayers is the mother of James Sank Knepper. She married Jacob Knepper May l, 1829 in Washington Co. MD. Jacob died and Sept. 2, 1834, Mary married James Ayres in Washington Co. MD. They had 6 children. Their youngest was Ann Catherine, born in 1849 and died August 1, 1851, the same day as her mother, Mary. They are buried together with one stone on their grave.
