Served in the Civil War. Aaron Auten was the son of Paul Auten and Harriet McCann. (Paul and Harriet are buried at Ridgeway, MI; Paul's second wife, Jurusha Cole, is buried in Rice Cemetery). Aaron married Elizabeth Jane Caswell (1831-1898. Children of Aaron and Elizabeth: George W. Auten (1847-1919), J. M. Auten (1849-1920), Norman Auten (1860-?), Aaron Auten (1861-1925), and Jane Auten (1865-?).(Note: Aaron died near City Point, Virginia while serving in the Civil War.
