David and Isabelle's (Primrose) second child, Martha, born in April 1879, married a man who worked for David Primrose as a hired hand, named Joseph Smith. Joe and Martha moved to Wyoming where Joe worked in a mine and died in a mining accident, leaving Martha with three young children, Mary, Edna and Bill. Another son, David, lived with his grandparents David and Isabelle, and died at eight years of age in an accident while helping to stack hay. David is buried in the Primrose family plot in Dublin Cemetery along with his grandparents and their son Samuel, who died in infancy. Martha later married Ralph Barry and they lived in Paxton, Nebraska, where he was a house painter. They had no children, but Ralph was given a great credit for helping raise Martha's children. Martha's eldest daughter married Ted Marten and, after World War II, they moved to Battleground, Washington. Edna married a farmer/rancher, Gailen O'Donnell and they lived in the Hershey and Sutherland area of Nebraska. Bill and his wife lived in San Diego, California and he served twenty years in the navy. Bill died of a heart ailment at age 45. Martha and Ralph Barry lived in Primrose in their declining years and she passed away in November 1945. Ralph Barry died in 1957.
