Junior Legard Catron, 83, of Frederick, MD, lost his courageous battle with cancer on

October 28, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Phyllis Staley Catron.

Born on June 12, 1931 in Chatham Hill, VA, he was a son of the late Martin Luther Catron and Myrtle Marie Catron Williams.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proudly served from 1951 until his medical discharge in 1960. He was then employed by M-NCPPC for 33 years as a small-engine mechanic until his retirement in 1993. He was a hard-working man who took pride in everything he did and would do anything for anybody. He especially enjoyed family reunions and trips back to the mountains near Marion, VA. He also liked fixing things, gardening, woodworking, and antique car shows.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Wayne Catron (Carolyn) of Sabillasville; two daughters, Sharon Catron (Rick) of Frederick and Carol Wallace of Middletown; and two grandchildren, Jon Miller (Kelsey) of Brunswick and Jessi Wallace of Middletown.

In addition, he is survived by one brother, Delter Catron of Martinsburg, WV, and two sisters, Jerlean Eader of Poolesville, MD and Cathern Maus of Boonsboro, MD. He was predeceased by a brother Raymond Catron, and two sisters Mildred Cullop and Dorothy Woods.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 pm on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville, MD. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Boyds Presbyterian Church, 19901 White Ground Road, Boyds, MD. Pastor Eyde Mabanglo will officiate. Interment will immediately follow in the Church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jon Miller, Mark Lewis, Delter Cullop, Chuck Eader, Marty Eader, and Mike Maus.

The family would like to thank Dr. Eric Bush and Kline Hospice House for his care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to Kline Hospice House, 7000 Kimmel Rd, Mount Airy, MD 21771, or to Hospice of Frederick County, PO Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
