Mrs. Roy Armstrong, Hemingford
The wife of a prominent retired Hereford breeder and farmer passed away in an accident at the couple's home in Hemingford on February 10, 1970. She was Blanche Armstrong, wife of Roy Armstrong, and mother of Donald Armstrong, who is engaged in the cattle business west of Marsland.
Mrs. Armstrong succumbed to injuries about two hours after having fallen down a flight of basement stairs at the home.
Mrs. Armstrong was born on February 23, 1897 at Chariton, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. George Wiltsey. The family moved to Hemingford when she was about 12 years of age. She had been a resident in the Hemingford area ever since.
She married Roy Armstrong August 18, 1923 in Hemingford. Besides her husband and son, Mrs. Armstrong is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Lee of Alliance; Mrs. Robert (Mardelle) Troeltzsch and Mrs. Douglas (Hazel) Gregory, both of Boulder, Colo. Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. William Moravek of Hemingford and ten grandchildren.
Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the United Methodist church, the American War Dads Auxiliary and the Nebraska Cow-Belles. Funeral services were held from the Hemingford United Methodist Church on February 14 and burial was in the Hemingford cemetery.
