Della Maxine Crews, 75, Kokomo, passed away on February 13, 2014 at 12:18 p.m. at
her home. She was born the daughter of Arvil Clarence and Rosie Mae (Ward) McClain
on November 21, 1938 in Braggadocio, Missouri.
Maxine was a 1958 graduate of Deering High School in Missouri, and moved to Kokomo
in 1959. She retired from Pittsburgh Plate Glass in 1994, and was a member of
Kokomo Missionary Baptist Church. Her life was her children, grandchildren, family,
and friends. The more she could give of herself, the happier she was. She never met
a stranger, and will be loved and missed forever.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda (Chris) Morgan, Gary Crews, Allen Crews, and
Tonya Hancock, grandchildren, Gary (Courtney) Lowery, Ashley, Levi (Cheyanna),
James, and Joshua Crews, Brooklyn, Kayla, and Summer Hancock, Sandy and Scotty
Richardson, great-grandchildren, Paul, Autumn, Joseph, and Abigail Lowery, Vawn,
Waylon, and Mason Judy, Nolan and MaKenzy Crews, Cameron, Skylar, and Bruck
Richardson, siblings, Laverne Roberson, Clara Fletcher, Larry (Vicki) McClain,
Darrell (Betty) McClain, and Glenda Long, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a
special life-long best friend Joyce Bolton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, a sister, and a
grand-daughter, Amy Judy.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Shirley &
Stout Funeral Homes & Crematory, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd. with
Nathan York officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may
visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the funeral
