Lorenzo Gilbert married Hannah Belknap on 31 Jan 1833 in Licking Co., Ohio.
He and his wife Hannah were pioneers of Oregon Territory, setting out from the Midwest with oxen and wagon in May 1847 and arriving at what is now Eugene, Oregon on Nov 3, 1847. They homesteaded the following year in what is now Benton County.
One reference is an article on their son, Jesse Belknap Gilbert, in a 1912 book on the history of Spokane County, Washington (where J.B. settled). The book is now in the public domain and is available for reading or PDF download at Google Books. The article is on pages 750-752 of the book (pages 761-763 of the scanned PDF). It has extensive information on Lorenzo Dow Gilbert, although some details don't gibe with other references (e.g. the article says he died in 1887, but his headstone says he died in 1882), so like everything else in genealogy, it has to be taken as tentative information, subject to proving out by primary records.
The other reference is a scanned obituary for a grand-daughter of Lorenzo and Hannah, Lettie Edwards Herron, which appears in the photos section of her FindAGrave memorial. It has a brief paragraph on her grandparents.
