Richard F. "Dick" Genthe, 82, of 2675 Beverly Ave., Dubuque, formerly of East Dubuque, Ill., died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Miller Funeral Home, East Dubuque, with the Rev. Peter Marshall officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery.
He was born on July 9, 1928, in Dubuque, son of Earl and Nell (Mathews) Genthe. He was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School.
He married Ardelle M. Tschiggfrie on June 15, 1957, at Wesley United Methodist Church, East Dubuque; she preceded him in death on Jan. 16, 2002.
Dick was formerly a pressman for the Telegraph Herald, the Dubuque Leader and Union-Hoermann Press, from where he retired.
He was a former member of GCIU Local 518.
Dick loved fishing, hunting, camping and traveling.
Surviving are three children, Vicky (Tom) Baumann, of Potosi, Wis., Valerie Genthe, of Dubuque, and Donald (Angie) Genthe, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren, Jacob, Tasha, Kimberley, Jessica, Randy and Tonya; six great-grandchildren; and his companion, Dee Wright, of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Earl Genthe.
