On Dec 20 1910 death came to the home of Mr. Henley Brewer and took from him his wife Mary Lanna who for two years had been a sufferer of tuberculosis.
In the summer of 1908 she was taken from her home in Durham, Arkansas to New Mexico for her failing health and the change seemed to benefit her until death visited her home Sept 19, 1908 and took from them a little son who was little more than three years of age.
After the death of her little boy she grew steadily worse, and it was thought that the end was near.
As she grew worse she asked her husband to return her to her father's house in Durham. The local medical board believed it was best for her to return to the west and she was taken to Amarillo, Texas where she lingered until the end.
