The son of John Alfred Terry Boyd (1884-1959) and Mary Katherine Webb (1883-1961) Albert Lee "Smokey" Boyd was born December 18, 1922 in Allen, Hughes Co., Oklahoma. Also in Allen, on October 28, 1943, at 19, he married Frances Louise Jackson (1925-2013). She was the daughter of John Marion Jackson (1884-1956) and Claire Elizabeth Thompson (1892-1937) of Clayton, Oklahoma. At the time of the wedding, he was on leave from the army, having enlisted on January 27, 1943. He served in the army overseas and was released on January 7, 1946.
After living in Oklahoma 30 years, he moved his family to Lewisville about 1952. He and his wife continued to work hard to build a life for their family. To the union was born seven children, four sons and three daughters. He died on Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at the Medical Center of Lewisville at the age of 81 having survived his eldest daughter Clara Elizabeth "Sissy" Boyd Robinson (1947-2005) a little over a month.
