MORGAN CITY-- Funeral services for Barbara Allain Fuhrer, 49, were held at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment was in the Morgan City Cemetery.

Visitation was from 5-9 p.m. Monday, which included a 7 p.m. rosary, at Hargrave Funeral Home, which reopened at 9 a.m. today.

A native of Jeanerette and a resident of Berwick, Mrs. Fuhrer died Saturday, Dec . 13, 2003, at her residence surrounded by family and friends.

Mrs. Fuhrer was the daughter of Luella Herbert Allain and the late Wilbur Louis Allain Sr. of Jeanerette. She was a 1971 graduate of St. Joseph's High School and was employed by the St. Mary Parish School Board for 10 years. She will be remembered fondly for her contagious laugh, her faith in God, her faith in her family, and her compassion and love for everyone that was blessed to have known her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, William B. Fuhrer of Berwick; her daughter, Angela Lancon Hoffpauir and her husband, Hanko of Morgan City; four sons, Todd J. Lancon and his wife, Leslie LaJaunie Lancon; John A. Lancon and his partner, R.Shannon Bruni and her children, Randi Nichole Landry and Brock S. Landry of Morgan City; William B. Fuhrer lll of Lafayette, and Cory S. Fuhrer of Berwick; and one grandchild, Katie Elizabeth Hoffpauir of Morgan City; her sister, Mary Kay Allain of Lafayette; six brothers, Wilbur L. Allain Jr. of Lafayette, Steven M. Allain and his wife, Tana of Gonzales; Raymond E. Allain and his wife Rebecca of Jeanerette; Larry K. Allain and his wife, Becky of Lafayette; Christopher J. Allain and his wife Tammy of Lafayette,and Gregory M. Allain and his wife, Kerri of Sunset; and a host of nieces , nephews, and friends, including her dear friends Lynn LeMieux Allain of Lafayette and Sara Manfre Kidd of Morgan City.

Pallbearers will be Todd J. and John A. Lancon, William B. lll and Cory S. Fuhrer, Hanko B. Joffpauir and Brock S. Landry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Wilbur L. Jr., Steven M., Raymond E., Larry K., Christopher J. and Gregory M. Allain.

Hargrave Funeral Home of Morgan City is in charge of arrangements.
