She was born Jan, 4, 1914, near Sylvan Grove, Kan., to William and Johanna Dierker. She moved with her family to Clover, Idaho, where she attended Trinity Lutheran Church and School. She graduated from Filer High School and attended business school in Seattle, Wash.
On Feb. 21, 1937, she married Arnold Werner. They farmed in Jerome County from 1941 to 1980, when they retired and moved to Twin Falls.
Lorna was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Twin Falls. Over the years, she was also active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League, the Lutheran Laymen's League, Farm Bureau and Good Shepherd Auxiliary. Her dedicated example of service will long be remembered, and she will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Lorna is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and the Rev. Gerald Hickman of Pasco, Wash., Ruth and Lloyd Probasco of Lincoln, Neb., and Lois and Orville Pohlmann of Deshler, Neb.; a son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Norma Werner of LaPine, Ore., a sister and brother-in-law, Lu and Art Krugler of Whittier, Calif.; a sister, Flora Schwegman of Nampa, Idaho; a brother-in-law, Clarence Werner of Twin Falls; a sister-in-law, Edith Hadzima of Chesterfield, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; her parents; her sister, Vernice and Adeline; and her brother, Omer.
