Paul Brooks, 85, of Spartanburg, SC, died December 20, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born December 20, 1926 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was the son of the late Wyatt P. Brooks and Emily Brooks, and the husband of Jeannine (O'Brien) Brooks for 56 years.
He was the former owner of Auto and Industrial Supply in Boiling Springs. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Spartanburg where he was a member of the Adult 3 Men's Sunday School Class.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Steven B. Brooks of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Christie D. Brooks of the home; two grandsons, Eric M. Brooks (Jessica) of Augusta, GA, Andrew P. Brooks of Boiling Springs; two granddaughters, Jennifer N. Brooks Brown (Kevin) of Chesnee, Kristen E. Brooks of Boiling Springs; and one great-granddaughter, Lilyan K. Brown of Chesnee.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2001 at Southside Baptist Church in Spartanburg with the Reverend James Nugent and Reverend Dr. Schuyler Peterson officiating. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
