Rex was born and lived all his life in the same house. He and Lillian met on school bus taking them to 1933 Worlds Fair in Chicago, IL. Rex graduated from Bellevue High School in 1930. He was a farmer and also served as substitute mail carrier for his brother Edward. In 1951 he started working Grand Trunk RR as a watchman, after a few years he switched to janitor then to shipping.
