Harry Stockton Ream was born just before the Civil War began to Michael Valentine Ream and Louisa Miller. He married Florence Emma Crites 19 Nov 1902 in Dover, Tuscarawas Co. Ohio. He was 20 years older than she was. They had two sons, Harry Stockton Ream, Jr., and Samuel Croxton Ream. Harry was employed his entire working life at the Penn Iron and Coal Company, later named the Hanna Furnace Company and later still the Shenango Furnace Company. He and his wife were devout Christian Scientists.
Harry remained in excellent physical condition most of his life. He died at the age of 85 of emphysema due to years of smoking.
