Stella A. Bowser, 84, of Bucyrus, died Sunday, April 5, 2015 at Altercare of Bucyrus.

Born November 17, 1930 in Lorain County to the late Charles H. and Elizabeth J. (Nixon) Bowser, she is also preceded in death by brothers, Adam, Byron, and Jonathan Bowser and sisters, Bertha Stuckman, Thelma Mullins, Rosetta Maynard, Hazel Bowser, and Ethel Bowser.

Stella is survived by several nieces and nephews, including: Tom (Wanda) Bowser and family; Carl (Mona) Stuckman and their two children, Ozzy and his son Channon and Amber and her daughter Ivy; Robert Stuckman; Candy (Thomas) Clark and their two children, Elizabeth (Wesley) Neville and Sarah Clark.

A 1949 graduate of Whetstone High School, Stella worked at G.C. Murphy Co., later known as Ames, as assistant manager from 1968-1987. From 1987-1997, she worked in the lab department at Swan Hose.

Stella enjoyed playing bingo and watching old movies. She was very active in the activity dept. at Altercare of Bucyrus and also found much joy in feeding the outdoor cats while at the nursing home as she enjoyed her many pet cats through the years. Stella always felt at home at Altercare and appreciated the love and support shown by her second family, the nurses, staff and fellow residents.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at Wise Funeral Service where her funeral will be held beginning that day at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Matt Garrabrant officiating. Burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to Altercare Activity Dept. through the funeral home.
