MARGARET MARIE NORRIS, 80, Lebanon Junction, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Parkway Rehab & Nursing Center, Louisville. She was the former Margaret Marie Boone, a native of New Hope and an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. She was a former school teacher for the Nelson and Bullitt County school systems. She was a former City Council member for the city of Lebanon Junction for nine years. She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 157, where she was a chaplain and 4th District Chaplain of the state of Kentucky. She was also a member of Disabled American Veteran's, the Elizabethtown VFW Post No. 5710 and St. Benedict Catholic Church, Lebanon Junction. She was also a member of the Lebanon Junction Lions Club and served on the Old Fashion Days Committee of Lebanon Junction. She was appointed by Woman's Veterans Association as field representative for the Woman's Memorial in Washington, D.C. She was also selected to the V.A. Medical Center Honor Roll as one of the Outstanding Women in Military Service for accomplishments in community work and service. She was a site manager for the Multi-Purpose Senior Citizen in Lebanon Junction. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Earl Norris; and a daughter, Cynthia Marilyn Eells. Survivors include four sons, Joseph Leroy (Tracey) Norris, Lawrenceburg, William Emanuel Norris, Elizabethtown, and James Michael Norris, Lebanon Junction, and Anthony Wayne (Bev) Norris, Madisonville; a daughter, Nancy Earlene (Chris) Bogaski, Lebanon Junction; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Lebanon Junction, with burial in Highland Memory Gardens, Mount Washington. Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at Kappel Funeral Home, Lebanon Junction. A prayer service will be 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
