Cecil (Cubby) Robert Shirley, 84, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., born April 6, 1925, in Carmen, Okla., passed away on Feb. 23, 2010, at the VA Medical Center Hospice in Prescott.
His mother, father, five sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
Cecil is survived by Eva Shirley, his wife of 53 years; two daughters, Laura Hasson and Lisa Hooper; five grandchildren, Brandon, Robert and John Hasson, Destiny Hooper and Ayla Lapan, and four great-grandchildren, Destiny, Broden, Autumn and Brylor Hasson.
Cecil served in the U.S. Navy and was retired after 33 years with Certified Grocers. He was also active in the Elks Club and the American Legion, CASA Senior Center, and he loved to play golf.
No services are planned.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2724 E. Lakin, Suite 9, Flagstaff, AZ 86004; (928) 526-3800.
