Drexler, Mary Elizabeth (Graham) 95, went to be with our Lord on April 29, 2011 at her home. Elizabeth was born in Danville, KY Nov. 18, 1915. She was a member of Parkland Baptist Church, and a long time member of Victory Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed her independence, as well as her friendships, as a resident at Farmdale Adult Citizens Towers for 21 years. For the last 7 years she was cared for in the home of her daughter, Charlene. She sustained her faith in the Lord through many trials including a tragic car accident at the age of 22 which left her paralyzed from the waist down for 73 years. Eleven years after the accident, she gave birth to a second daughter, followed by another daughter 4 years later. She raised her children, cooked and kept house from her wheelchair. Her faith, smile and positive attitude were an inspiration to everyone.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Drexler; parents, Joseph and Elner Graham; sister, Rebecca Yankey; brothers, Joseph and Clayton Graham; grandson, Steve Horsman; and son-in-law, Claude Horsman.

She is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth "Betty Jo" Horsman, Charlene Bennett (Danny) and Martha Hazelip (Philip); a sister, Francis Eichstadt; grandchildren, Deborah Board (Rodney), Pamela Curtis (Michael), Mark Horsman (Rebecca), David Bennett (Darlene), Tracy Miller (Derek), Joseph Hazelip (Jennifer), Shawn Hazelip, Laura Hazelip; 20 great-grandchildren, 7 great- great-grandchildren and 1 great- great- great-grandchild.

Her Celebration of Life service will be conducted 12 noon Tuesday May 3, 2011 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 3-8 p.m.

The family would like to thank Hosparus of Louisville and all the docters and nurses who cared for our mom in the past years.
