He was never buried at Heil Cemetery in Floyd's Knobs. His grave has always been here. The headstone was ordered in 1954 by a Dawn Condra (Find A Grave Memorial# 154280631), with proof as DAR Patriot record #378682. This taken from the headstone order. Dawn Condra was probably with the DAR, and ordered this and his father Thomas' headstones with no intention to install them at Heil Cemetery but listed it as the cemetery because the VA would not provide the headstones for a private plot. Previous comments online that the headstones, including that of his father Thomas and his wife Anna were installed at Heil and then taken to the family plot are not true. The headstones have always been in the family plot off Losson Road. People (in the past) assumed that they were installed at one time at Heil Cemetery because that's what was on the headstone order form. He has always been buried with his Father and Wife in this plot, and the headstones have always been here, Anna's since her death, and Joseph's and his father's since 1955. Previous to that, both graves were marked with simple field stones (see photos).
