Anna Dudak (1916 - 2001)*
Obituary: Andrew W. Dudak age 90 of Bridgeport passed away on Friday December 19, 2008 in St. Vincentís Medical Center Bridgeport. He was born on April 27, 1918 in Ramey, Pennsylvania to the late Andrew and Mary (Babey) Dudak and has been a long time area resident. He was retired from General Electric as a lead man in the Wire and Cable Department after forty- two years. Andrew was a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp and was assigned to the 533rd Bomb Squadron, 381st Bomb Group and the 8th Air Force, until March 1945 when he was seriously injured in a plane cash and spent the next 2 Ĺ years recuperating in Army Hospitals in England and the United States and in 1947 was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. He was a long time member of St. Johnís Byzantine Catholic Church and was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Club and the Disabled American Veteranís and was an avid bowler, golfer and baseball fan. He was the widower of his beloved wife of 62 years Anna Paprocky Dudak. He is survived by his beloved son Ronald Dudak of Bridgeport, a brother Paul Dudak of New Hampshire, 4 sisters Mary Krasicky of Bridgeport, Helen Heran of Stratford, Catherine Breza of Fairfield and Irene Bandre and her husband Andrew of Monroe and several nieces and nephews. In Addition to his parents and wife he was pre-deceased by his brothers John, Joseph and Martin and sisters Margaret De Filippo and Evelyn Dudak. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday December 23, 2008 at 10:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11 a.m. in St. Johnís Byzantine Catholic Church Nichols for a Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in St. Johnís Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. Panachida at 5 p.m.
