YADKINVILLE - Merline Booe Bray, 85, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born July 2, 1925 in Yadkin County to the late Caswell H. and Lucy Renegar Booe. Merline helped run the family business, Bray's Used Cars, for over forty years. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and caring for her animals. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, and loved being around her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Bray, Sr.; son, James "Jimmy" P. Bray, Jr.; sister, Pauline Baker; brothers, Gorrell Allen Booe, Carlyle Booe. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Carolyn R. Bray; grandchildren, Angela Bray (Bill) Merryman, James "Jamie" P. (Angie) Bray III; great grandchildren, James P. "Dex" Bray IV, Abigail Brynn "Abby" Merryman; sisters, Audrey Felts, Betty Lou Shuping, Penny (Flake) Cline; brothers, Lonnie (Judy) Booe, Caswell H. (Patsy) Booe, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Frances Bray Fulk, Dolores Bray; special friends, Randy, Margaret and Alex Allgood; and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Brady Morrison. Burial will follow at Harmony Grove Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to thank the staff of Clemmons Village I, who have loved and cared for Granny over the past 16 months. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Bray family.
