Claude Benjamin Carpenter was born March 14, 1890, in Pettigrew, Arkansas, to John Bruton Carpenter and Samantha Ellen Short. He married Lula Pearl Best July 16, 1916 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They had two children; Finley Bee and Eletha Clo Megee. Claude spent most of his life in Broken Arrow and was an oil field worker. He died of lukemia at the age of 71.
