Jack R. Mears, age 73, of Dublin, died Saturday, March 4, 2000 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He retired from the Glidden Paint Company after 35 years of service. Veteran of U.S. Navy, WW II. Jack was a member and past Elder of Liberty Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of University Lodge 631 F&AM and the York Golf Club. Jack made many friends from his love of wood-working, a profession which he enjoyed after his retirement. Preceded in death by his parents John R. and Ruth White Mears and brother-in-law David Boring. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruthmary Mears; daughters, Linda (Bob) Buchan of New Albany and Susie (Dave) Kocak of Westerville; grandchildren, C.J., Adam, Amy, Jared, Matt, Meredith, Joel, Michael, Dominick and Anna; aunt, Katherine Howard of Columbus; brother-in-law, Richard (Barbara) Boring of Worthington; sister-in-law, Polly Boring of Columbus; and nieces, nephews and many friends. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 515 High St., Worthington. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2000 at Liberty Presbyterian Church, 7080 Olentangy River Road, Delaware, OH 43015, (at the corner of St. Route 315 and Home Road). Dr. David A. Redding officiating. Interment Kingwood Memorial Park. If they choose, friends may make memorial contributions to the Liberty Presbyterian Church Building Fund, in Jack's memory.
