Businessman, Dies
GUILFORD, Feb. 17-F. Ray Huntington, 70, prominent retired businessman of Guilford, died Thursday at a hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla., where he had been a surgical patient for two weeks.
He was born at Bradford May 5, 1884 the son of Fred and Mellie Church Huntington. He came to Guilford in 1919 where he purchased the automobile and garage business established by the late C. M. Drew. He retired about 10 years ago.
Before coming to Guilford, Mr. Huntington was employed for several years at the Abbot Woolen Mills at Dexter and the E. D. Blaisdell Firm of electrical contractors.
Mr. Huntington was a member of the Methodist church of the Mt. Kineo Lodge A. F. and A. M. No. 109, a former member and stockholder of the Piscataquis Country club and a member of the Guilford Chamber of Commerce.
Since his retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Huntington had made their home in Florida during the winter and at one of their camps at Whetstone Pond during the summer.
Surviving are his wife Myrtle; a sister, Mrs. Ray Ward of Wilton; a nephew, A. P. Kimball of Dover-Foxcroft; an aunt, Mrs. Walter Rowe of Dexter.
Funeral arrangements will be announced.
Ray married Myrtle Lolita Cunningham 04 Jun 1905 in Bradford ME.
