Armstrong – Services for Andrew Burt Jr., 91, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Armstrong with Pastor C. Kent Wever officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery. He died Saturday, Dec. 17, 1983 at Holy Family Hospital.
Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Armstrong after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Burt was born Jan. 23, 1892 in Seneca Township, Kossuth County, Ia., the son of Andrew and Susie (Mitchell) Burt Sr. He attended the Seneca Township School. On March 11, 1914 he was united in marriage with Elsie Beck at her parents’ farm in Swea Township. They farmed in the Armstrong area until 1947 when they moved into Armstrong where he did carpentry work for a number of years. Burt became a resident of the Valley Vue Nursing Home in 1982. His wife preceded him in death May 4, 1982. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leona Pehrson, Armstrong and Mrs. Sidney (Ella) Zochert, Minneapolis, Minn.; seven grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Susie Helmers, Estherville.
