Born, reared and educated in Chester, she had been a resident of Concord since 1958. She received her teaching degree from Ursinus College.
Mrs. Allen was a homemaker. She was also a teacher at Marcus Hook Elementary School, retiring in the early 1970s.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Church in Wilmington, Del.
A volunteer at the Rachel Kohl Library, she was also a member of the township's senior citizens group, and was known for making "cancer badges." Mrs. Allen enjoyed sports and followed Philadelphia sports teams.
She was the widow of Thomas Nelson Allen Sr., who died in 1985. She was the daughter of the late Karl and Minerva Fox Kerth and the mother of the late Thomas Nelson Allen Jr., who died in 1977. She was the sister of the late Karl Kerth Jr.
Service: 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Bethel.
Visitation: 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial: Private at Middletown Presbyterian Cemetery.
