YORK Horace E. Heindel, 91, entered into rest on Sunday, September 16, 2007, at 7:25 p.m. at his residence, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Thelma D. (Paules) Heindel who entered into rest on September 17, 1989. Mr. Heindel was born July 24, 1916, in York, the son of the late Robert and Irene (Smith) Heindel. He was a lifelong farmer. He was an avid bowler into his mid 80's, a pitcher for Yorkana in his younger years, and a great N.Y. Yankees fan since the Babe Ruth era. He was a member of Christ U.M. Church of Yorkana. He is survived by four daughters, Patsye M. Buser of York and husband, William, Nancy L. Fauth of Loysville and husband, Ronald, Peggy A. Leber of York and husband, Scott, Judy A. Hendrickson of York and husband, Vic; six sons, Robert H. Heindel of Brogue and wife, Lona, William L. Heindel of Brogue and wife, Judy, Donald L. Heindel of York and wife, Linda, Michael E. Heindel of Brogue and wife, Julie, Jeffrey L. Heindel of Brogue and wife, Roxy, Stanley K. Heindel of Pensacola, Fla. and wife, Joyce; 38 grandchildren; 79 great-grandchildren; eight great-greatgrandchildren; and one brother, Mark Tyson. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; five brothers; and one sister. A viewing will be held Saturday 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. service, at Christ U.M. Church of Yorkana, 5 Main St., Yorkana. His pastor, the Rev. Forrest S. Bish, will officiate. Burial will be in Yorkana Cemetery.
