LeRoy J. Meadows died July 22, 2011 at home with his family by his side.

Roy died less than 100 feet from where he was born, on May 30, 1920, the youngest of ninechildren, to John Benjamin and Mary Jane Wilde Meadows.

He was raised on the family farm up Chalk Creek, east of Coalville, Utah. Roy graduated from North Summit High School, where he enjoyed boxing, which he continued for a short time after graduation.

Roy married Bessie Brown on October 11, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They made their home on the farm which they purchased from his parents.

He retired from the State UDOT in 1982, where he had worked for thirty-three years. He retired to work on the farm and ranch, where he raised cattle and hay. He had a love and a unique connection with the animals he cared for. He was at his happiest when on the farm and with his grandchildren, whom he loved.
