Mrs. Emma C. Barnhart died Friday, October 4 at the age of 84 at the Valley General Hospital shortly after arrival there by ambulance. Emma Foster was born February 7, 1879 in Little Falls, Minnesota and was married there to Frederick Barnhart on May 1, 1898. They came to Cle Elum in 1919 and have lived at 607 N. Pacific Street, in the same house for 35 years. Mr. Barnhart died May 18 this year.

Mrs. Barnhart is survived by two sons, Fred L. Barnhart, Jr., of South Cle Elum and Vern Barnhart of Ellensburg; a daughter, Mrs. Daisy E. Whitcomb of Tacoma, 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Frank Foster of Reemer, Minnesota and Wilbur Foster of Portland; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Gilmer of Reemer, Mrs. Alice Baucke and Evelyn Foster, both of Portland.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 8 at 2 p.m. in the Evenson Chapel. Jesse L. Gibb will officiate and burial will be in the High Valley Memorial Gardens.
