Aged Citizen of This Community Answers to Final Summons
Mrs. Andrew Anderson died at 7 o'clock last Thursday morning at her home here at the ripe old age of ninety years, three months and six days. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Augustana Lutheran church, Rev. L. J. Fihn officiating. Burial was in the East Sveadahl cemetery.
Anna Charlotte Anderson was born in the parish of Magra, Westergothland, Sweden, Oct. 29, 1834. She grew to womanhood in this parish, where she also received her education. In 1854 she was united in marriage to Andrew Anderson. The young couple emigrated to the United States during the Civil war days of 1862. They located first in Mayville, N. Y., where they remained until 1869. The family then responded to the call of the west and came to Minnesota. A homestead was taken up in Riverdale township of this county. Here the children were raised and the family lived on the farm until 1896 when they moved to St. James. Mr. Anderson died about nine years ago.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by five children, eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She also leaves one twin brother who lives at Mayville, N. Y.
The Anderson family is well known in this community. Mrs. Anderson has always been a member of the Lutheran church. Throughout her entire life she had been blessed with good health and a cheerful disposition. She has been a hard worker for her home and family. She has been a faithful wife and mother and has held an inside place in the affection of her children. The day before she was called home she asked for her pastor to come and administer the communion services to her, as an expression of her faith in Christ.
