Mrs. Juanita (Nita) Bishop, 82, of Starkville, MS passed away at Starkville Manor Nursing Home on June 29, 2011.
Nita was a retired teacher with Oktibbeha County Public Schools, where she had worked for 34 years. She was also a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Specialist Degree and a member of First Baptist Church in Maben.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenny W. Bishop; parents, Loyd and Mary Rodgers; and a sister, Berniece Conlee.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by her daughter, Glenda Palmer (Bill) of Maben, MS; grandchildren: Johnathan Bishop, Brad Palmer (Leslie), and John Palmer all of Jackson, MS; a great granddaughter, Allison Bishop of Hernando, MS; and host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Bishop was held Saturday, July 2, 2011 from 12-2 p.m. at Providence Methodist Church in Maben. A funeral service was on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Providence Methodist Church in Maben. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
