He was preceded in death by his brothers, James Edgar Chapman Jr., Billy Wayne Chapman and Jerry Joseph Chapman. He graduated from Carrollton High School Class of 1958 and retired after 26 years with Delta Airlines. After retirement, he worked for Chick-fil-A and Stadion Money Management. Frank was a member of the Griffin First Assembly of God. Frank cared for others by volunteering to Meals on Wheels and the Helping Hands Food Pantry. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 53 years, Miriam Collins Chapman of McDonough; children, Dr. Michael (Susan) Chapman of Eatonton, Tim (Leah) Chapman of Jacksonville, Fla., Greg (Rebecca) Chapman of McDonough, Christi (Wayne) Hammock of Hampton; grandchildren, Josh (Jenna) Chapman, Amy Chapman, Lorianne Chapman, Sarah Chapman, Hannah Chapman, Anna Chapman, John Michael Chapman, David Chapman and Daniel Chapman; great-granddaughter, Payton Chapman; mother-in-law, Christine Collins of Carrollton; brother-in-law, Ronald (Brenda) Collins of Carrollton; sisters-in-law, Jan Collins of Carrollton, Marj Chapman of Loganville and Bernice Chapman of Snellville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 14, 2011, at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Carrollton City Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family Saturday from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel in Carrollton. Contributions are asked to be made to Helping Hands Food Pantry at Glad Tidings Church or the Diabetes Association in memory of Frank.
