George R. Underwood, 75, formerly of Ash Flat, Ark., died Tuesday, August 24, 1999 in Pearl River Community Hospital in Poplarville, Miss. Born, March 14, 1924, he was a native of Denham Springs, La. Until his retirement in 1986, he was the owner-operator of Underwood Fish Farms in Ash Flat, Ark.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Olive McLin Underwood; four sons, and their wives, Walter and Dawn Underwood of Livingston, La., Mitch and Laura Underwood of Evening Shade, Ark., Danny and Andie Underwood of Dallas, Texas, and John K. and Luauana Underwood of Ash Flat, Ark.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 1999 in Picayune, Miss., with Bro. Bill Allen officiating. The body will be cremated with arrangements made under the direction of the University of Mississippi.
