Portsmouth - Elizabeth Mae Adams, 88, of the 4500 block of Portsmouth Blvd., passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015, surrounded with love. She was a native of Philadelphia, PA and was the wife of the late Harry R. Adams. She was a retired cashier for Sears, a member of Western Branch Senior Bowling League and Olympian Ladies Bowling League.
She is survived by four daughters, Joan Anderson and husband Thomas of Suffolk, Paula Smith and husband Tim of Chesapeake, Cheryl Scott of Suffolk and Della Collins and husband Tim of Portsmouth; two brothers, Joseph Beck and wife Sally of Saint Louis, MO and James Beck of Hudson, OH; seven grandchildren, Betsy Cummings and husband Kermit, Tom Anderson III and wife Alison, Jammie Matthews and husband Chris, Cyndy Bohannon and husband Kevin, Stan Krasucki III, Jessica Collins and Tim Smith II; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by the Rev. Scott Benson. Entombment will follow in Meadowbrook Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m.
