James C. Blair was a Pvt. in Co. I, 149th PBI (2nd Bucktail Reg't). At the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1st,1863, He rec'd a gunshot wound through his left elbow & shattering his left shoulder near the McPherson barn on the post-noon fight in which his regiment was engaged. The wounds became mortal at Camp Letterman and he was returned home, dying in Shade Gap at his family's farm on Aug.24th,1863.
He was 22 yrs.& 5 months old in age.
