|Birth: ||Jul. 31, 1861|
|Death: ||Jul. 25, 1904|
William W. Bowen was born July 31st, 1861, in Harrison county (sic), Missouri, and died, July 25th, 1904, aged 43 years and 12 days. He was conscious that the end was approaching and called his family and other relatives around him to bid them good bye. While he had not joined any church, he was a believer in a Supreme Being, and had no fear of death.
He was married to Miss Emily Holloway on January 23, 1888. To this union were born seven children, all of whom are living, except one which died in infancy.
He bore his suffering with patience, having been sick for a number of years, and calmly awaited the change.
He was laid to rest in the Lone Rock cemetery (sic), beside his child. Funeral sermon was preached by Elder C.H. Jones. We would say to the bereft family, to remember there is a great and merciful Savior, who died that man might have life, and on the resurrection morn that he will come forth alive, so that when we are called to depart we can depart in peace, having that hope and assurance that God in his own due time will cause this mortal to put on immortality when we will be united never more to part.
W.W. Bowen died at his home four miles north of here July 25th of a complication of diseases. He had been an invalid for several years, and critically ill several weeks. He was laid to rest in the Lone Rock Cemetery, Rev. D.H. Jones having charge of the funeral services.
