Murder Victim. In this high-profile case, Jeremy Sheets was found guilty in the racially motivated kidnapping, rape and killing of 17-year-old black girl, Kenyatta Bush, in Omaha, Nebraska. However, Sheets was released from death-row after the US Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal of a Nebraska Supreme Court decision overturning his conviction. Prosecutors then dropped the charges against him.
