SUNSET – Don, age 80, passed away February 10, 2013 peacefully at home surrounded by his family, from a tragic slip on the ice.

He was born March 30, 1932 to Maurice Killian Allgeier and McConal Hickerson in Louisville, Kentucky.

Don married Catherine Gittlein on November 28, 1953. During their marriage they raised five children and spent time living abroad, settling in Utah. They later divorced. Don met and married the love of his life, Eunice E. Stewart. They married April 28, 1979 and spent 33 years together enjoying the snowbird lifestyle after retiring in 1987.

Don served honorably in the Air Force during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956. After the war, he began his 30 year career in civil service. Serving at Air Force Bases in Germany, Denver, Philippines, and Utah as an electronic supervisor in the PMEL office.

Don is survived by his children: Lizabeth (Randy) Gish, Thomas (Charity) Allgeier, Diane (Jay) Waddoups, James (Theresa) Allgeier, and three step children: David (Nikki) Hebdon, Michael (Kimberly) Hebdon, Shelley (Brent) Burningham, 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice, son, Donald Jr., and one great-grandchild, Tru Jake-Ann.

Don's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at McKay Dee ICU and Home Hospice for Utah, especially Andrea and Haley.

In lieu of flowers, Don and the family would ask that you make a donation to your local animal charity.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2013 at 12 noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven.

A viewing will be held for family and friends Thursday at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, from 5 to 7 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m.

Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park where Military Honors will be accorded.
