Bernice Irene (Shank) Culver was born on Sunday, March 20, 1949 and lost her battle to Multiple Sclerosis on Monday, March 21, 2011. She was 62 years old and the daughter of Paul and Viola Shank. During her school years, she attended St. Mary’s School, Santa Maria High School, Allan Hancock College, Cal State Hayward and USC. She went on to work for Dr. Ibsen, DDS as a dental hygienist. Her hobbies included 4-H guide dogs, rescue animals, needle work and reading. She was also a huge fan and supporter of racing. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jeff Culver, brothers, Paul J. Shank of Santa Maria, Bill Shank of Tucson, AZ and sister, Kate (Shank) Sauzek of Casa Grande, AZ.
