Mary Ann Hendrix Parks Ellis Reynolds

She is the daughter of Moses & Sarah Hendrix. She married Aziel C Parks Mar 14, 1848 in Jackson County, Georgia. She married Nathan Ellis Aug 3, 1854 in Hall County, Georgia. She married Sharp Spencer Reynolds May 22, 1864 in Jackson County, Georgia. Mary is the mother of Benjamin Parks and Minor Reynolds.

It has been reported that Mary's first husband, Aziel Parks, was buried at sea in 1854. I would be interested in hearing more about this. Mary's second husband, Nathan Ellis, joined Company K, 43rd Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Tennessee, C.S.A., Hall County, Georgia, Brown's Boys. He was captured and died in 1863.

The last will and testament of Mary's father, Moses Hendrix:

Dated Feb. 4, l866, probated Nov. 2, l868 , recorded Nov. 5, l868. pp.l51-53. ..being desirous to settle my worldly affairs while I have strength so to go. I give and bequeath to my wife, Mary Jane Hendrix,* five dollars, as her part of my real and personal estate. I desire that She has no dower, in my estate; she having quit my bed and board without any provocation.

I desire the balance of my estate to be divided equally between my children as follow: Dorcas Hendrix, Nancy Hendrix, Andrew Hendrix, Martha Bowls, Artemiss Bayly, Mary Reynolds, Francis Baily, Miles Hendrix, Harriet Yergans, Octava Carson, Narcissa Carson, Amanda Carson with the following exceptions. I desire that Dorcas Hendrix and Nancy Hendrix have all the land west of James H. David known as a part of the Duncan land. I also give them what ready money I may have on hand at the time of my death, and one horse between them, one cow and calf apiece, five head of sheep apiece, and five head of hogs apiece. two beds apiece and bed clothing. I also give them all of Earthan & Pot ware, also a spinning wheel and pair of cards apiece and the loom. I give the above named articles and land to Dorcas Hendrix and Nancy Hendrix over and above the balance of my estate for and in consideration of their having remained and lived with me so long & having helped me to work for, and raise most of my children. I mean that the above named articles and land that I give to Dorcas & Nancy is to remain theirs during their natural lives, & if they should die without heirs then this property to be divided equally among their brothers & sisters, or their heirs as the case may be. And Mary Reynolds shall like $300 an equal share with the rest, as I don't think it will be any advantage to her and do her no good. And Octava Carson & Amanda Carson shall like $100 apiece of getting an equal share the balance of my children as I think the raising their children worth $l00 apiece.
