Liette R. Allen, age 82, died unexpectedly Monday, November 25, 2013 at her home. She was born in Augusta, ME on November 2, 1931 a daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Maria (Coulombe) Bernard.
Mrs. Allen attended Augusta schools and was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church where she volunteered with "Hands for Humanity".
She had been employed by Statler Tissue for many years.
Mrs. Allen was pre-deceased by her husband, Wayne Allen; two brothers: Joseph and Leo Bernard and three sisters: Lillian Grenier, Anita Arbour and Lorraine Martin.
She is survived by a son, Paul Bernier and his wife Alice of Thorndike; two step-sons: Earl Allen and Jean Dupuis of Augusta and Paul Allen and his wife Joanne of Mt. Vernon; three sisters: Theresa Lessard of Nashua, NH, Doris Theriault of Lewiston and Bertha Brunelle of Augusta; six grandchildren: Ashley Bernier, Chelsea and Shane Allen, Travis, Tiffany and Amanda Allen. As well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends may visit from 6-8 PM Friday, November 29th at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Saturday, November 30th at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Augusta. Burial and committal prayers will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Rd., Augusta.
