Robert David Curry, 83 Robert D. Curry, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed peacefully on 27 October 2009 with family present.
Born 16 September 1926 in Windsor, Ontario the youngest child of Robert David Curry and Maude Eleanor Chenay. Loving sibling, Beloved husband of and devoted father of seven children, Proud father-in-law to their partners during life, Loving grandfather to 12 grandchildren, Caring uncle, Proud companion and mentor to Tattoo, the wondrous canine.
Excelled during a 40-year career in the railroad industry in union and management roles on Canadian National, Detroit & Toledo Shore Line, and Grand Trunk railroads.
Pursued a lifetime of scholarship and study earning degrees from Wayne State University and the University of Michigan. A thoughtful student of the Holocaust and its implications for the human spirit. Passed on while still researching and writing a book about his own family history.
He realized his dreams of becoming a telegrapher, a surveyor, an accountant, father of a large family, and more. His spirit of achieving his goals in the face of challenge and his focus on providing for his family is his enduring legacy. In his own hand he wrote that he "has gone ahead to prepare a better place for his family."
