Rose Wokan Fister is the widow of George Fister. Rose was born in Germany. Her husband was born in St. Charles, Missouri and died in 1934 in Kankakee State Hospital in Illinois. He is buried next to his parents, Frank J. and Louisa Fister in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kankakee, IL. Rose and George lived in Bradley, Kankakee until George's death in 1934. Rose's parents, Anton and Theresia Wokan were from Otto Township in Kankakee County, IL. Her father immigrated from Bohemia and her mother from Austria. Her sister, Dora and her husband Herman Siewert are buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, IL. Her other sister Mary and her husband John G. Tiefenbach are buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, IL as well. Her parents Anton and Theresia Wokan are also buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove, Illinois. Rose had four children, Anthony J. Fister who died as a Veteran of WWII in LA County, CA on January 15, 1984; Lillian Marie Heiden, born May 30, 1905 and died February 20, 1992 and she is buried in Resurrection Cemetery together with Rose; Ann Streicher of Chicago, Illinois and Leonard Fister. All of her children were born in Kankakee County, Illinois.
